Church organ at St Ignatius' ChurchChoirs have a role that is in service to the liturgy and that helps to foster a greater love for God among His people through the use of religious music and song.

St Augustine once said "(One) who sings, prays twice".  As members of the congregation, our choirs lead and encourage the faithful to express reverence for God through sung prayer.

Song and music fulfil their function as signs in a manner all the more significant when they are "more closely connected... with liturgical action," according to three principal criteria: beauty expressive of prayer, the unanimous participation of the assembly at the designated moments, and the solemn character of the celebration.  In this way they participate in the purpose of the liturgical words and actions: the glory of God and sanctification of the faithful.
