ForgivenessOur Lord Jesus Christ came among us to heal the sick and to forgive sinners. In celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation the Church reveals itself as the sacrament of God’s mercy in the world continuing the healing ministry of Jesus.

In our parish we celebrate Penitential Services before Easter and before Christmas. During these times the sacramental forgiveness is offered.

Catholics are invited to come to the parish office at any time for confession.  It may be a good idea to phone the office first to find out when a priest is available, though this is not always necessary.

It is required that a child prepare for and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of the growth in faith and before receiving Holy Communion.

Children at the parish school undergo preparation for their First Reconciliation.

Preparation of Catholic children attending non-Catholic schools

Sacramental classes are held at Immaculate Conception Church, Hawthorn.  There are no classes at Richmond Catholic Parish. Candidates need to be in Year 4 or above for First Reconciliation and Eucharist.

Please download the document below for further details on classes and how to register your child.
