History

The year 2006 was a special year in the history of Trinity Catholic School as it became a new school. The school was born from the amalgamation of two historic Richmond Schools being- St James Richmond North and St Ignatius Richmond. The school exists on the former St James site.

The current students will go down as the original students and will create the history and nature of the school by their very being- the way they act and succeed as students of the school will shape the traditions and ideals of the future.

Trinity Catholic School is the parish primary school of both St James Richmond North and St Ignatius Richmond. Prior to 2006 the two schools maintained long and proud histories.

At the end of 2008 St John the Evangelist Primary School in East Melbourne closed and almost half of their students enrolled at Trinity Catholic School. Now we are a bigger school and are happy to have welcomed all these new students to our school
