Church open doors

From 11:59pm on Sunday 31 May 2020, the Victorian Government is further easing some of the statewide Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions which enable small gatherings in places of worship. The Catholic Bishops of Victoria have determined that churches in Victoria may be opened in certain pre-arranged circumstances and in compliance with distancing rules and hygiene measures to protect the community from the spread of COVID-19.

While our church buildings have been closed, in reality the Church - the People of God, Body of Christ, and Temple of the Holy Spirit - is very much with us, just as Jesus remains with us. In this time of being apart we discover alternative ways to participate in Masses, supporting one another and continuing to be a part of the life of the Church.

Happy Mother's Day 2020

Today we celebrate Mother's Day. Each year our liturgies would include the distribution of beautiful flowers (often chrysanthemums) to the women in the congregation or to be passed on to them by their families and friends present at Mass. This year, although we are unable to mark this day with you in person, we can still offer a prayer and thank God for our mums, mums-to-be, grand and great-grand mums and for all those women who have been spiritual mothers to us and others. We invite you to share a prayer for the inspirational woman or women in your life on our Mother's Day Facebook post.
