Congratulations to our parish priest, Fr Trung Nguyen SJ, who recently celebrated ten years since his ordination as a Jesuit priest on 02 July 2011.

"The ordained priest is called as a shepherd to remind and reinforce in the Church the sense of the presence of Jesus among us. He is called to remind the Church and the faithful of the presence of Jesus in our midst. Pope John Paul II said that the role of the priest ‘is to prolong the presence of Christ amongst us’.

"These are overwhelming concepts. It makes sense of the saying of St John Vianney, the Curé of Ars, Patron of Priests, that ‘the priesthood is the love of the heart of Jesus’. We are missioned to live in our lives and in our ministries the expression of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, his compassion, forgiveness, unconditional love, merciful healing." --- Bishop Gregory O’Kelly SJ, On the awesomeness of priestly vocation

O Christ, eternal priest, keep Fr Trung within Your Sacred Heart, that always and in all things he may be Yours.  Amen.
