Our parish will be holding the annual Jesuit Mission appeal on 17-18 June 2023.

For Jonia, a 28-year-old mother and village chief, the installation of a water facility on her doorstep is opening up a world of opportunity for her community in Railaco, Timor-Leste. Clean and safe water is providing new agricultural opportunities for her family and is greatly improving their standard of hygiene. Her children no longer have the burden of collecting water before and after school and can focus better on their studies.

In Timor-Leste approximately a quarter of the population has little or no access to water and 40% live below the poverty line.

In collaboration with the Jesuits in Timor-Leste, in four years, Jesuit Mission has helped provide clean water to more than 15 rural villages, transforming the lives of over 5,000 people in need.
