Saturday 19 March 2022 is the Feast of St Joseph. Like many saints, very little is known of St Joseph, besides what we learn from the few lines written about him in the Gospels.

Joseph, as Jesus’ foster father, would pass on to Him the values required to become a good carpenter. It is not difficult to imagine that the virtues Jesus learned from His teacher – patience, judgement, persistence and honesty – would serve Him well in His later ministry.

We would like to wish all who bear the name Joseph and have him as their patron, a happy Feast day full of joy, peace, and humility.

Prayer to St Joseph – The Great Protector

Hail, Guardian of the Redeemer,
Spouse of the Blessed Virgin Mary.
To you God entrusted his only Son;
in you Mary placed her trust;
with you Christ became man.
Blessed Joseph, to us too,
show yourself a father and guide us in the path of life.
Obtain for us grace, mercy, and courage.
and defend us from every evil.
