Important Announcement

As the Richmond Catholic Parish is located within one of the Victorian local government areas returning to Stage 3 Stay at Home restrictions, from 11:59pm on Wednesday 08 July 2020 all public Masses and private prayer times in our parish will be suspended for 6 weeks or until further notice. Additional restrictions also apply to baptisms, weddings and funerals.

While our church buildings are closed for public Masses and private prayer times, in reality the Church - the People of God, Body of Christ, and Temple of the Holy Spirit - is very much with us, just as Jesus remains with us. In this time of being apart we discover ways to participate in Masses, supporting one another and continuing to be a part of the life of the Church.

Church open doors

From 11:59pm on Wednesday 08 July 2020, places of worship will be closed in restricted postcodes except to hold weddings and funerals in compliance with additional restrictions.  As Richmond Catholic Parish is within one of the restricted postcodes, our churches will be temporarily closed for public Masses and private prayer times for 6 weeks or until further notice.  See Suspension of public Masses for further details.

From 11:59pm on Sunday 31 May 2020, the Victorian Government further eased some of the statewide Coronavirus (COVID-19) restrictions which have enabled small gatherings in places of worship. The Catholic Bishops of Victoria have determined that churches in Victoria may be opened in certain pre-arranged circumstances and in compliance with distancing rules and hygiene measures to protect the community from the spread of COVID-19.
