Reconciliation
Our Lord Jesus Christ came among us to heal the sick and to forgive sinners. In celebration of the Sacrament of Reconciliation the Church reveals itself as the sacrament of God’s mercy in the world, continuing the healing ministry of Jesus.
In our parish we celebrate Penitential Services before Easter and before Christmas.
Catholics are invited to contact the Parish Office to find out when a priest is available for individual confession.
Preparing Catholic children to receive the sacrament
It is required that a child prepare for and celebrate the Sacrament of Reconciliation as part of their growth in faith and before receiving Holy Communion.
Catholic children attending our parish school undergo preparation for the sacrament at the school.
For Catholic children in our parish who are attending non-Catholic schools, please contact Immaculate Conception Church, to register your child(ren) for the sacramental classes held in the Hawthorn Catholic Parish. Candidates need to be in Year 4 or above. There are no classes at Richmond Catholic Parish.
